Cape Cod Rentals: 9 Advantages of Renting a Cottage

Cape Cod rentals are one of the most popular places to stay on Cape Cod.  Whether it is a four-season home, cozy cottage, modern townhouse, or a traditional beach house, there is a rental that is right for you.  The Cape has thousands of high quality vacation rentals with room for 2 – 20 people.

Square Footage
Unlike the confines of a one-room motel, a Cape Cod rental gives you multiple rooms providing space for you and your family to spread out.  Elbow room and privacy can make a vacation that much more relaxing.  On the flip side, if you are vacationing with friends or extended family, the convenience of staying under one roof can help you maximize your time spent together.  Either way, the space a rental  home provides can’t be beat.

Private Yard
Many rental homes and cottages have at least something of a yard or outdoor space in which to play or relax during your down time.  You will want to enjoy every moment you can in the Cape’s relaxing salt air.  A private yard is great for children to run and play, have a cookout, or read a book.

A Safe Place to Walk
If you enjoy taking walks or going for a run while on vacation, a vacationrental will usually give you access to great roads on which to do so.  Most motels on the Cape are located on the main roads where it might be a little more difficult to enjoy a quiet, scenic walk or a safe run.  Many cottages are located on or near quieter side roads; and if you’re lucky one of those roads will take you right to the water.

Meals
Most cottage rentals come with fully equipped kitchens.  This is not only convenient for breakfast and preparing your lunch for the day, but it gives you the option of having dinner at home; which can be a great money saver.  This is especially convenient for families with young children or large groups who would rather pass on waiting for a table at a restaurant.

Outside Shower
Many Cape Cod cottages and homes have roomy and private outside showers which are perfect for washing off the sand and lotion from a day at the beach.  Many visitors who are hesitant to take a shower outside in the beginning of their trip are converts in no time.  There is something invigorating yet relaxing about showering under the Cape Cod sky.  A simple concept but something most of us don’t enjoy in our everyday lives.

Wet Towels and Bathing Suits
Wet, sandy bathing suits and towels can take over your motel room in no time. With your own cottage, you will have many more options to hang and dry your beach gear.  Your place may even be equipped with your own washer and dryer.

Pets
There are a respectable number of vacation rentals on Cape Cod that accept pets.  The extra space they provide are ideal for pets and owners alike.

Beach Chairs, Beach Umbrellas, Beach Toys, and More
Many cottage owners provide beach chairs, umbrellas, and blankets for your use. It is amazing how much space in your vehicle this could save.  Even if you decide to bring your own beach supplies, by staying in a rental you will have much more room to store it all than you would in a motel.

Bike Parking
Cape Cod has approximately 60 miles of dedicated biking trails; it is a very popular and highly recommended activity.  Although there are many bike rental places on the Cape, you may certainly want to bring your own.  With your own cottage rental, storing these bikes is easy and convenient.

The availability and the many advantages of Cape Cod cottages make renting a vacation home on the Cape a perfect option for many visitors.  Book yours today and have a fantastic vacation.

All great points. We also like to bring our dog on vacation and alot of vacation rentals allow this and have a yard. Its really tough if you stay in hotels. It allows everyone to hang out together during the trip too.
